Heading into last season, I ranked Ole Miss running back Jerrion Ealy as my No. 1 freshman running back. After only rushing for nine yards on eight carries his first two games, Ealy began to find his footing. The star freshman running back finished the season with 722 yards on just 109 carries.
Despite Ealy’s success, the Rebels finished the season losing five of their last six games. Lane Kiffen would replace former head coach Matt Luke at the end of the season. This should be huge for Ealy’s development as Kiffin has produced some of the top running backs in NCAA history, including Heisman Trophy winners Reggie Bush and Derrick Henry.
Ealy will not only be one of the top running backs in the SEC but in all of the FBS. He will eclipse the 1200 yards mark this season and ten touchdowns.
