Chris Braswell possesses excellent height and length with a lean muscular build and should be able to continue to add needed mass with further physical development. He does display excellent playing strength, which should continue to improve as he fills out. Chris has an elite first-step quickness.
Against the run, he consistently fires out low and plays with good pad level. He does an excellent job of shooting his hands and can be very active with them using his reach and upper body strength to slip blockers quickly. He also can get off the ball and power through contact and knife through gaps at times to disrupt with penetration. He can fight to hold ground, but he is best on the move at this stage with adequate anchor and needs to continue to add size.
Against the pass, Chris has as good of an initial burst that you will see in the 2020 class. He needs to continue to refine but can be active with his weapons and displays the ability to flip hips and quickly pull thru.
Braswell is a player that is not afraid to compete and mix-it-up and displays a good motor and willingness to move around and play where he can help the team. He is an excellent tackler with a long reach to reel in ball carriers.
Braswell is an outstanding prospect but is just scraping the surface of where he should get to. He could offer some versatility to a college defense as well with the ability to potentially fit as a DE or OLB.
He is a versatile, highly-disruptive defender who can play standing up or with his hand in the dirt with speed to make plays on the perimeter. With refinements and continued physical development in his game, he should develop into at least an All-SEC performer.
