JC Latham is one of the top prospects in the 2021 class for good reason. He has excellent height and length for the tackle position and possesses very good bulk and above-average playing strength. While he is a big prospect, there is still room to further be developed physically with a frame that can support additional good mass.

Against the pass, he doesn’t display a jolting punch at this stage, but he is excellent with his hands. He can quickly punch and gain placement with the upper body strength to lockout and control rushers. He maintains a good base and demonstrates good balance with the ability to stay square and be able to redirect and shut down inside moves. He moves well laterally and can mirror with ease once locked on. He is tough to overpower once he gets his hands on the pass rusher but can work to sink a little better at times to help him anchor against consistently bigger and more powerful rushers.

JC is much more polished against the run as he can deliver a good initial pop. He displays good strength to be able to steer and control defenders when he gets hands-on and when he stays low capable of driving them back. Being still young as an offensive lineman, he needs to continue to watch his pad but he moves very well for his size and can be a strong second-level blocker who takes good angles and locates targets well.

The bottom line is that JC is a long framed lineman who has the skill to be an anchor on an offensive line at the next level. He consistently works to stay with blocks and finish defenders. He comes from a successful high school program that plays elite talent each week. With continued growth and improvement, he should develop into one of the premier tackles in college football.
